In cleaning out the office of retired Senior Administrator Barbara Munck, Davenport aides unearthed this home video of a year in the life of Davenport students from 1947 to 1948. Watching the video, it is remarkable to note both what has changed and what has stayed the same. The student population was entirely white and male, and Davenport IMs were taken pretty seriously:

Davenport’s IM football uniforms, which put together all of Davenport’s colors for a very aesthetically pleasing outfit.

IM Rowing used to exist (and in this race, we tragically lost to Pierson).
But despite the differences, there is much that is the same. For one, the architecture of Davenport has been virtually unchanged. For another, this moving picture of Davenport life 69 years ago captures the way that Davenport has always been a community, as the students are captured on film goofing off and laughing and relaxing together (check how the courtyards have always been a space for group sports at 2:36).
